Concentrate

While enjoying the beautiful Irish countryside it's easy to lose concentration. The fact that many of the roads are very quiet in certain parts of the country can add to the concentration problem ... It's easy to let your attention drift when there's nothing much happening.

Enjoy your holiday but remember that much of the time you may be near working farms with livestock and tractors.

Some cars with 'L' plates (showing a learner driver) may have an unaccompanied learner at the wheel - an anomaly in the Irish law still makes allows some learners to drive on their own!

It's also worth bearing in mind that mile-for-mile, many journeys take longer in Ireland than in the UK or USA.

Journeys from Dublin out to major population areas are not too bad, however, once you leave the main arterial roads your average speed will be about 25/35 miles per hour.
